Cybersecurity issues are relevant to almost any field or industry. As such, employees who have a broad understanding of cybersecurity issues would be valuable to any organization.
An Interdisciplinary Studies degree is suited for:
- Students who have a specific personal or professional interest that cannot be met within the traditional degree structure or
- Students with disparate credit hours trying to find a way to complete their degree.
Focus of Study
The BA in Interdisciplinary Studies – emphasis on Cybersecurity is for UCCS College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) majors who would like to learn more about cybersecurity concerns and how they impact their chosen field.
This degree plan integrates a core set of cybersecurity courses from engineering, business, and criminal justice, with specified concentration areas.
Program Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 39 credit hours of coursework and a minimum of 27 credit hours of upper-division (3000-4999 level) coursework.
- Students must select their two clusters early in the program to ensure that all courses can be completed within three years.
Program Coursework
The Interdisciplinary Studies major requires a minimum of 39 credit hours of coursework and a minimum of 30 credit hours of upper-division (3000+ level) coursework.
*The GIS concentration area requires 5 additional hours of course work which will reduce general electives by the same amount.
