About the Program

The Asian Studies minor program at UCCS provides a foundation and support system for individuals involved or curious about Asian cultures, languages, or ideas.


Focus of Study

With the Asian Studies program, students can engage in a variety of ways with the world’s most populous and diverse continent through art, history, language, philosophy, religion, politics, geography, and culture to name just a few fields of study.


Program Requirements

The Asian Studies minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours of course work, at least 9 of which must be upper-division (3000+ level). All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.

No more than 10 hours from any individual department may be counted toward the minor.


The Excel Languages Center (LC) provides assessments and placement exams that may be taken by UCCS students seeking to demonstrate language proficiency.
